The Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph is limited to 1786 pieces and comes in a 42mm pebble-shaped stainless steel case with rose gold-coated Arabic numerals and an eye-catching blue glacier pattern dial. The dial is decorated with a layered ice design that was inspired by the Mer de Glace, the main glacier of the Mont-Blanc Mountain. The centre of the dial is created using a special stamp that reproduces this glacier texture and celebrates the “blue hour” – “l’heure bleue”, during which a shade of intense blue falls upon the glacier at dusk when the moon rises and the stars begin to shine. It was at this time of day that Jacques Balmat became the first person to reach the summit of the Mont Blanc – at 18h23 on August 7th in, 1786. Functions include hours, minutes, central seconds with a Montblanc emblem on the counterweight, chronograph, and a date that are powered by the MB 25.13 automatic movement that can be admired through a sapphire crystal case back. The time functions are displayed with rose gold-coated leaf-shaped hands, while the chronograph indications use rhodium-coated “baton” hands. The timepiece is paired with a blue Sfumato alligator strap.
